Bespoke Specifications
Depending on where you plan to use your model, there are a range of different features that can be added. If you plan to take your model to exhibitions or events, you might find adding lighting, sound or moving parts creates an immersive experience for the viewers. For models that will be housed on board a yacht or pride of place in a boardroom some well-placed external lighting that gently draws the eye of the visitor or guest, could be the perfect finishing touch.
From moving parts and opening doors to sound systems, scent diffusers, and light sequencing, there’s not much the team at SMW hasn’t had experience in creating. Test our abilities with your wildest ideas, we can make them into a reality.
EXTERNAL LIGHTING
Mounted Spots or LED strips can gently bathe the model in light or focus the eye on certain areas. Utilising power bank technology, many of these lighting options don’t need mains power therefore are perfect for models that will move around frequently.
INTERNAL LIGHTING
Deck lighting can be added via LED strips, along with interior lighting to add interest and highlight areas.
MOVEMENT
Adding interest and functionality, moving parts help elevate a model and offer some insight into how the real vessel will look and feel. From simpler items such as rotating propellers to more complex additions such as opening doors revealing internal spaces or onboard tenders and toys, we can showcase any features.
BASES AND MOUNTING
What the model sits on is just as important as the model itself. Our standard base is made from Ply and spray-painted matt black, however, we can offer an aluminium framed base with a lit central section or create bespoke options if you have a base in mind. If your model is to be mounted directly onto an exhibition stand we can supply the model with mounting posts ready to base.
BESPOKE EXTRAS
There is so much scope to create a unique and bespoke model, crafted exactly to requirements. Here are a few ideas:
- Including a scent diffuser in a miniature spa replicating not only the interiors but the fragrance as well.
- Mini HDTVs can play feature-length films and sound systems with light sequencing can create a party atmosphere.
- Tiny wine bottles stacked in a beautiful wine cellar glimpsed through an opening door.
- Lighting effects shone across the pool or jacuzzi to create the look of real water.
- Perspex cutaways to invite the viewer to see internal sections such as the engine rooms or science labs and create added interest and offer a taste of what life on board is really like.
All of these bespoke extras are used to tell a story about the vessel and can immerse your viewers in her features and uniqueness.
