for Lateral Naval Architects
The Energy Transition Platform Model is a unique interactive model that showcases the movement to embracing a Net Zero future. We were commissioned to build this model earlier this year by Lateral Naval Architects who unveiled it at MYS 23.
The Energy Transition Platform has a paired-back, architectural look, with the addition of three interchangeable engines to highlight the transition between different fuel types. By offering an interactive element where each engine installed initiates a different lighting sequence, viewers enjoy a visual representation of the upgraded and more sustainable engines.
The model was created from a CNC-milled hull with 3D-printed components, finished in a sleek white and grey design and included some complex electronics to power the light sequencing.
