The Kairos scale model was an ambitious build with cutaway sections, Perspex panels, geometric detailing and complex lighting.

Kairos represents a collaborative concept design by Oceanco, Pininfarina, and Lateral Naval Architects, reimagining the superyacht living experience by connecting various onboard environments. The design utilizes symmetry to encourage the owner and guests onboard to live in the moment.

Constructed from a CNC-milled hull and 3D-printed components, the model is mounted on a paired back base with only two standoffs. As the concept for Kairos was designed around the living experience, much of the model is open to reveal the interior space. Four cabins are on show with a programmed lighting sequence that illuminates each cabin individually. The Kairos scale model captures the heart and soul of the design and allows the audience to understand and embody the unique timeless design and sense of space onboard.

The Kairos design and scale model were unveiled at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show and is part of Oceanco’s NXT initiative on sustainability and innovation.
